身為Network Engineer 日常都會接觸到product code，但你對它認識又有多少呢?

以下圖示便可以一目了然，解拆各種含意。

一般image 分LAN Base、IP Base 和 IP Services，只有IP Base 和 IP Service 才能運行IP Routing 而成為Layer 3 Switch。它們的分別如下:

一般可以show inventory 看看PID (Product ID)

1.      Model: 2960XR
2.      Port number: 48
3.      T: port type 為Ethernet ports，即使用RJ45 cable連接
4.      S: Up link 為2/4 SFP up link
5.      I: IP Lite Image

2960X/2960XR Image 又有少少特別，分 -I “IP Lite”  ，-L “LAN Base” ， -LL “LAN Lite”

三者分別: 

●   LAN Lite feature set has entry-level Layer 2 features and is targeted at midmarket deployments

●   LAN Base feature set comes with advanced Layer 2 features and is typically targeted at enterprise customers

●   IP Lite feature set comes with enterprise access Layer 3 features and is typically targeted at enterprise customers

IP Lite Feature set:

●   Routing Information Protocol (RIP) v1

●   Routing Information Protocol (RIP) v2

●   Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) v2 stub

●   Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) v3 stub

●   Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) stub

●   Equal-cost routing

●   Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP)

●   Protocol Independent Multicast PIM (Sparse Mode, Dense Mode, Sparse Dense Mode, Source Specific Multicast) stub
